THE PURCHASING QUESTION
The reality
“Low MOQ” needs a follow-up question: minimum for which version? Available stock, a new production batch, a custom handle color and a printed sleeve can have different starting quantities. Supplier conditions vary; there is no universal minimum for buying tools from China.
Consolidation combines collection and shipment planning. It does not automatically merge the production economics of a wrench workshop, a socket manufacturer and a packaging printer. Adding categories can also add sample work, collection costs and timing dependencies. A delayed item may hold up the shared shipment unless a split-dispatch decision has already been agreed.
QUICK REFERENCE
Separate the three minimums
| Confirm | What to record or distinguish |
|---|---|
| Item MOQ | The minimum for a specific SKU, size, variant or set; stock and new production may differ. |
| Branding MOQ | The starting quantity for logo marking, a custom colour or another adaptation. Confirm the applicable version. |
| Packaging run | A printer or case supplier may set a separate minimum per sleeve, artwork or packaging design. |
| Shared shipment | Consolidation coordinates ready dates and collection. It does not cancel the item or packaging minimums. |
BEFORE YOU ORDER
Three checks before ordering.
Ask for separate minimums by SKU and variant: neutral stock, logo marking, custom color and packaging. Record whether a minimum applies per size, set or design.
Confirm sample arrangements, ready dates, collection locations, consolidation charges and the decision point for waiting versus shipping available goods separately.
Check whether the proposed mix still works after packaging, gross weight, freight minimums and inspection costs. A small purchase total does not guarantee economical transport.
PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE
What HEHE coordinates.
HEHE builds an item-by-item order plan and identifies the constraints before presenting a combined shipment. We can discuss neutral packaging, fewer variants or phased customization where practical. We do not promise that one mixed purchase list makes every factory or printer accept any quantity.
